The Futon Critic has begun releasing their list of the top 50 episodes of TV from 2007.
Burn Notice- The Pilot was number 39
Californication- The Pilot was number 40
Both of these FUN new series have been renewed for 2008- Burn Notice is scheduled to return for Summer 2008 and Californication should be as well- depending upon how the writer’s strike is resolved. David Duchnovny is back to his cable roots as Hank Moody a non-writing writer with women who he is not quite sure how to handle- chief amongst them is his almost teenage daughter. Set in Southern California, New Yorker Hank has embraced the hedonistic California anything goes lifestyle. Watch for a brilliant appearance by Madeline Zima- previously known for her work as Gracie Sheffield on The Nanny.
Burn Notice is the second starring part for Jeffrey Donovan – he was on the short lived US version of Touching Evil. He is joined by Gabrielle Anwar and Bruce Campbell as well as another perennial TV favorite Sharon Gless. Jeffrey plays a spy trying to get his life back after being fired. Fun, fiesty, witty- with lots of twists and turns- Burn Notice is a really enjoyable bit of humor and action that will light up any dreary afternoon.
