Jeffrey Dean Morgan has joined Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst in ’80s drama All Good Things.
The movie tells the story of a member of a New York real estate dynasty (Gosling) who becomes involved with a girl from the poor side of town (Dunst).
The former Supernatural star will play the downtrodden detective called to investigate when Dunst’s character goes missing. Frank Langella also stars.
The project is the feature film debut of documentary-maker Andrew Jarecki (Capturing The Friedmans), who will direct from a script he co-wrote.
Filming begins in Connecticut later this month.
Dean Morgan is currently shooting his role as The Comedian in Zack Snyder’s superhero comic adaptation Watchmen.

“Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles is in final negotiations to play a lead in Lionsgate’s My Bloody Valentine 3-D, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In director Patrick Lussier’s remake of the 1981 horror film, Ackles will play Tom, a handsome, principled man who returns to his home in Harmony, Mo., 10 years after 22 people were murdered on Valentine’s night. Back in Montana, Tom finds he still is smitten with his first love, Sarah (Jaime King), and is now a murder suspect.
Zane Smith wrote the screenplay.
Jack Murray, John Dunning and Andre Link will executive produce. Executive producers for Lionsgate are Mike Paseornek and John Sacchi.
Production begins May 12 for a release on January 23, 2009.

‘Supernatural’ Star Ready for ‘Friday the 13th’
Friday, March 21, 2008

Nobody was more excited than me when it was announced months ago that the madman from the Friday the 13th films, Jason Voorhees, would be facing the Winchester brothers on Supernatural. The hockey mask loving killer was supposed to show up in the recent episode “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” but due to some pesky rights issues it never happened. However, it looks like I’ll be getting the next best thing, because Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has just been cast as the lead in the new Friday the 13th remake. He’ll be playing a guy who investigates some grisly murders up at Crystal Lake, which is something Sam Winchester would surely be comfortable with.
The Friday the 13th remake is being produced by Platinum Dunes studios, which also brought us recent remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher, and many others. Fans of the original Friday, or the original Scream, will surely remember that Jason’s mother was the killer in the first film. Jason didn’t show up until the sequel, and he didn’t obtain his hockey mask until the third. However, in this “remake” he’ll already have his mask and be busy offing teens, so it’s not exactly a copy of the source material.
The new Friday the 13th film is being directed by Marcus Nispel, who put together a lot of music videos before directing the Texas Chainsaw remake. If you liked the gritty, stylized look of that film, chances are you’ll enjoy this one as well.
I think the casting of Padalecki is an interesting move, and I’m certainly excited to see him on the big screen again. These slasher movies typically have a female heroine, so it’ll be a change of pace to see a male battling Jason. However, I’m sure at some point during the climax of the film I’m going to wonder why he doesn’t pull out the Colt and shoot Jason right in his hockey mask.
Because the studios love a little bit of marketing synergy, the Friday the 13th remake will be in theaters on Friday, February 13, 2009.
